Firmware Engineer - Brentwood - Salary Negotiable - Permanent



We are seeking an Electronics Engineer with firmware experience to work for part of an international group who develop and manufacture power supplies for the electronics industry. The site specialises in the development of Switch Mode Power Supplies used in medical, communications and military equipment.

Duties:



Reporting to the R&D Manager the Design Engineer will develop new and existing switch mode power supplies.



Liaising with the Manufacturing department and Mechanical Design Manager you will attend and support internal design reviews.



Supervision of technicians and junior engineers



Supervise tests to validate designs.



Essentials:



Experience of analogue design, digital design, control circuit design, PCB layouts, firmware design, component selection, PIC Controllers, thermal management or MTBF



HNC or above in Electronics.



Excellent written and verbal communication skills



Own transport



Desirables:



Experience of conceptual design and an ability to meet high volume production cost targets



Experience of Switch Mode Power Supply design.



Salary and benefits:



Hours 8.30 - 5.00 Monday to Thursday, finishing at 4pm on Friday with 30 mins lunch
