SUPPORT MANAGER REQUIRED 

 My client is a provider of support within the Learning Disabilities sector and is expanding its services in the East Anglian region and is now looking for a Support manager to manage and develop services in the Suffolk area. They are now looking to appoint a Support Manager to take a lead role in supporting Individuals in their own homes with all aspects of daily living skills.

You will be required to ensure staff are supported to ensure all the people we support can maximise all their opportunities. To ensure staff are aware of expectations of their roles and fulfil relationships to ensure people supported have life enhancing opportunities. To guide and mentor the staff team to enable them to help people supported achieve their dreams and aspirations, as well as basic care and support needs. 

 

Responsibilities include:

 Line management and supervision of Team Leaders and Support Staff

  • Quality Assurance/ Audits.

  • Day-to-day running and financial management of services.

  • Day-to-day presence in the services plus represent the organisation externally

  • Manage the high quality support of individuals with complex needs and challenging behaviour.

  • Develop and manage new services acquired in the area

 

 Duties will include:

  • Support and participate in the day to day activities of service users assisting and facilitating their involvement in decision making and in particular ensuring that service users have a high quality home and social life.

  • Foster good relationships with neighbours, friends, and families.

  • Liaise with Care Managers and other professionals to ensure appropriate support is being delivered.

  • Respect and advocate the needs and wishes of people supported and communicate to colleagues and other professionals.

  • Ensure accurate records are maintained in relation to the individuals’ plans.

  • Update and review support packages as appropriate.

  • Where appropriate, support coach and assist people supported.

  • Conscientiously formulate/implement risk assessments, in line with company policy.
