Finance Analyst - Concessions, Designers & Direct Project Reporting
Job Overview
The role is based within the B&M Profitability department and manages the Concessions, Designers & Direct Reporting Finance functions. As well as the team being the key contact for these areas they also provide support to the External Business, B&M Finance, Commercial Insight and Legal teams at our London Head Office, in the form of query resolution, reporting and the provision of ad hoc analysis.
Concession & Designers
• Responsible for the management of Concession and Designer contracts to ensure timely and accurate processing of sales data, cash flow forecasting and reporting in line with contract terms
• Ensure contract terms are understood, questioning and highlighting any non standard contractual terms
• Monitor all Minimum Guarantees and Design Fees ensuring all sales are tracked and recorded accurately
Concessions
• Manage the implementation of all Online Concessions from the current payment on receipt of sale to the payment on dispatch
• Manage and understand, in detail, the period end profit check and control account reporting process
• Oversee all additional processes to ensure they are managed effectively and in a timely manner such as promotions, store recharges & vouchers.
Designers
• Responsible for the Designer Database, ensure it is correctly maintained and data integrity is upheld at all times
• Creation and analysis of sales and royalty data in addition to the automated process such as sales from our Danish Company and items on ‘sale buy’
• Reporting of sales and Royalty data to External & Internal customers
• Work alongside the B&M Merchandisers educating them on their part in the reporting process
Direct Reporting
• Responsible for the Direct project Finance Testing, understanding the current systems in order to perform analysis on existing and future system processes
• Manage Collect From Store (CFS) deferred revenue reconciliation
• Ensure Sales Recognised Not Dispatched (SRND) report is run and analysed weekly
• Manage and understand, in detail:
o Stockloss reconciliation process
o Clickout sales reporting process
o Direct Delivery Overseas (DDO’s) sales & margin analysis
o Post Sales Return (PSR) calculation for each Direct Cost Centre
o Amazon Affiliate Reporting
• Oversee the collation of the sales and margin reporting actuals for comparison to forecast, and validating the accounting entries back to the business process
Management/Ad-hoc
• Responsible for all existing processes ensuring that all controls are being followed
• Management of three team members, responsible for day to day management to include training, recruitment, development and managing the team’s performance
• Provide effective support to external and internal customers regarding queries/ad hoc requests
• Support the Finance Manager as necessary including working on projects, producing ad hoc analysis
• Manage ad hoc tasks when required, such as the management and analysis of defaulted sales and the expense transfer process
Scope Data
• Key point of contact for Concessions, Designers & Direct Reporting
• Significant involvement with London Head Office teams requiring occasional travel to London
• Ad hoc travel required to the distribution centre in Peterborough
• Line management for 3 team members
Experience & qualifications
• Finalist / Newly Qualified accountant
• Contract management experience preferred
• Line management / supervisory experience
• Retail experience would be desirable
• Experience working on projects would be an advantage
