***RGN Deputy Home Manager Required***

 

My client is looking for an RGN Deputy Manager to work in their spacious family owned nursing home which provides excellent standards of nursing care for approx 35 older residents. The nursing home is located in a quiet residential area of West Sussex but suitably close to local shops, churches, park and other amenities as well as good transport links.

The nursing home has a highly experienced team of Nurses and Carers providing 24 hour care with dignity, love and respect and currently requires an RGN Deputy Home Manager to join the existing team.

Required:

  • 1st Level Nurse

  • Previous management / supervisory experience.

  • Genuine interest in working with the elderly.

 

Purpose of the role:

  • Ensure all staff members contribute to the best of their ability to the efficient running of the home, and to the creation of an atmosphere conducive to the best interests of the resident.

  • Interact with residents, relatives and other staffs to ensure that resident’s health care needs are being met and resolve any problems where appropriate.

  • Report any ill health amongst residents and make requests for GP / Professional visits where necessary.

  • Ensure meals are of sufficient quantity and good quality, and that dietary needs are met.

  • Undertake general nursing work and personal care as appropriate.

  • Administer prescribed medicines and maintain the necessary records as per the Home policy and procedure. 

  • Support and assist the Home Manager in auditing Care Plan documentation, Medication etc.

  • Practise maximum integrity in all dealings with resident’s personal and financial affairs, and avoid abuse of the privileged relationship that exists with residents.

  • Ensure the appropriate skill mix of staff on each shift and well thought out delegation of staff to allotted areas.

  

Duties:

  • Arrange / Participate in Staff / Resident meetings as required.

  • Maintain effective communications with the Home Manager.

  • As requested by, and / or in the absence of the Home Manager maintain effective communications with residents, staff, other professionals, relatives and any other concerned body.

  • Obtain reports from the Senior Nurse in Charge, and advice the Home Manager, regarding any accidents / incidents, and the status of any residents whose care / health is causing concern.

  • Supervise visits and liaise with GP’s in order to establish good relationships between GP’s / Health Care Professionals and the Home.

  • Ensure a clear and concise handover is given to other staff at handover.

  • Manage, monitor and maintain budgets agreed by the Home Manager and Proprietor.

  • Ensure that all commodities used in and around the Home are sensibly conserved by all Staff Members.

  • Adhere to, and implement, all Human Resources (HR) policies and procedures.

  • In the absence of the Home Manager, in conjunction with the Administrator, deal with recruitment of staff, maintain correct records of staff working hours, implement and manage the Home’s Discipline policies and procedures, and grievance policies and procedures.

  • Assist with, and ensure that other staffs participate in formal supervision / appraisal procedures in line with the Home policy to ensure consistently high standards.

 

 

The Deputy Manager role is working on a 37.5 hours week covering a rota mon - sun and the pay is £14.00 per hour.
